“ I gotta give props where it’s due, this spot never misses. I’m hooked on their family combo meals! the seasoning is always on point, not too salty, not too bland, just right. You can tell they know what they’re doing in that kitchen. Delivery’s always on time, too. No drama, no missing items, no “where’s my food?” nonsense. They pull up, drop it off, and it’s still hot. And the prices? Mad reasonable. Especially for the portions you’re getting. In a time where everybody’s charging steakhouse prices for takeout, they’re keeping it humble and worth it. If you’re craving that real Dominican flavor without getting played on the bill, this place is it. ”

You can choose from beef stew, pork, ox tail and other Dominican food like fried plantains and rice and beans in a large takeout container for about 10. Nothing fancy, but they have seating as well in the air conditioned dining area. Great for a quick lunch or takeout. ”
“ UPDATE: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2023, 11:17AM: So far, the only dish I have eaten is the carne guisao, a rich and delicious beef stew. The service is very good, and the prices are relatively reasonable. I had their flan, for the first time, and give that I AM Cuban, I tend to be very picky about flan. It was so rich and creamy. I look forward to return the next time I visit Poughkeepsie. The place that I was originally going to go to for dinner closed early, but going to Nelly's turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The staff was very professional and the food was muy delicioso. I had yellow rice with pigeon peas (also known as arroz con gandules), beef stew (carne guisao) and yuca, as well as a Jarritos soda, Tamarind flavor and a cafe con leche. The beverages were very good and the food was muy delicioso! My Puerto Rican life partner was a little more than annoyed that he was not eating it woth me, so I promised to treat him to dinner here, the next time he can accompany me to Poughkeepsie. And I certainly look forward to returning, as soon as I can. ”
